Journal of Black Military Studies

Forthcoming, in partnership with the University of Vermont Press

The diamond open access Journal of Black Military Studies, the international, multi-disciplinary, peer-reviewed journal of the Society for Black Military Studies, will encapsulate the military experience (broadly defined) within and throughout the Black Diaspora.

In keeping with the Society’s mission, JBMS aims to promote worldwide understanding, appreciation, and greater dialogue about the Black military experience, distinguishing this new discipline as distinct from the field of military history.

JBMS will publish digitally under a diamond open access model that makes scholarship more equitable and accessible. This model enables authors to publish accepted work without publication fees, and readers to access all journal content without paywalls.

JBMS is in development and will open to submissions in late 2025.

Journal of Ecological Engineering Design

The Journal of Ecological Engineering Design (JEED) is the open access journal of the American Ecological Engineering Society, published in partnership with the University of Vermont Press. JEED aims to expand understanding of the science and design of ecosystem processes, functions, and services in academic and professional communities.

JEED is free for readers and free for authors.

JEED is among the first academic journals in our field to publish under a diamond open access model: The content is always freely available to readers via the internet, and authors do not pay any fees to publish. JEED is open to submissions and publishes articles on a rolling basis.
