Biography
Cynthia Davis is a professor of English at San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas. She received her PhD in Educational Policy and Planning from the University of Maryland. Her research and teaching interests include African American Modernism, African American military history, and the Black Arts Movement. Davis is the co-author, with Verner D. Mitchell, of Images in the River: The Life and Work of Waring Cuney (Texas Tech University Press, 2024) and In Flaming Letters: Lucia Pitts, Poet of the 6888 (Virginia University Press, forthcoming).
