The Journal of Black Military Studies (JBMS) is the peer-reviewed diamond open access journal of the Society for Black Military Studies, published in partnership with the University of Vermont Press. Its content is distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0), which permits copying and redistribution of the unmodified, unadapted article in any medium for noncommercial purposes, provided the original author and source are credited. Attribution must include appropriate credit and provide a link to the license. Authors retain ownership of all rights under copyright in all versions of the published article.
