Open Access Statement
The Journal of Ecological Engineering Design (JEED) is the peer-reviewed open access journal of the American Ecological Engineering Society, published in partnership with the University of Vermont Press. We are proud to publish under a diamond open access model, which promotes equity in scholarly communication by making all content free online to everyone—both readers and authors.
JEED is free for readers. In fulfillment of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) definitions of open access, the full text of JEED articles may be read, downloaded, copied, distributed, printed, searched, linked to, or used for any lawful, noncommercial purpose without prior permission from the author or publisher. Readers are not required to register or pay to read JEED content, which is always made available online immediately, without an embargo period.
JEED is also free for authors. There are no article processing charges, submission charges, membership requirements, or fees to publish with us. We ask all authors to sign an author agreement form, acknowledging and accepting digital publication under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0), prior to publication.
This free-of-charge, diamond open access publishing model is made possible through a partnership between the JEED Editorial Board, whose members volunteer their time and expertise, and the University of Vermont Press, which provides staffing and other production resources. All JEED content is born digital.
