Biography
Dr. Bogum Yoon is a Professor of Literacy Education in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Educational Leadership at the State University of New York at Binghamton, where she works with both pre-service and in-service teachers. Her research focuses on cultural and linguistic pluralism and critical global literacies. She applies a critical lens and offers practical tools to help educators understand the social and political contexts of education and to act as agents of change. Dr. Yoon is an active member of both the Middle Level Education Research (MLER) and the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE). She has served as a council member for MLER and as a member of the AMLE Research Advisory Committee.
