Biography


Emily obtained her B.S. and M.S. in Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Kansas State University and her Ph.D. in Biological Systems and Agriculture Engineering at the University of Kentucky. She then worked for the USDA-ARS in Columbus, OH, within the Soil Drainage Research Unit. Currently, she is a postdoctoral scholar with the Kentucky Water Research Institute at the University of Kentucky. She has worked on projects related to both water quality and quantity challenges across various scales and landscapes such as heavily managed agricultural systems, forested watersheds, and urbanized regions. More recently, her focus has been working with rural water utilities to analyze drinking water contaminants and understand the environmental factors that drive contaminant precursors in surface waters.
